America has given the world the finger, I suppose it’s the Millwall syndrome ‘No-one likes us, we don’t care’. I think the US voters are labouring under an incalculable number of misapprehensions but there you go.

Looking at it with hindsight I think had Kerry won I would hardly have been putting out the bunting but at least there would have been the reassurance that America did care about itself and others even if it didn’t have the perfect candidate to implement such a strategy. As it is now rather than mirroring Britain in 1997 it mirrors it in 1992 and if that isn’t a portent of doom I don’t know what is! I would have even been heartened had Bush got in but Nader got a big chunk of the vote, that would have shown that the Americans were fed up with the stupid system as it was with both main candidates. Of course the ideal would have been a Kerry victory with a large Nader vote but that wasn’t going to happen. As it stands this is the worst of all worlds.

Someone commented today that it makes the world wake up because we all see New York and Boston and California and DC as being representative of America but of course they aren’t really, you want America, go to Sweet Home Alabama.

Evidently on the whole America doesn’t give a toss about the world at large. As your re-elected President said in the past “You’re either with us or against us.” Well my friends and comrades I think we are going to find an awful lot of people are against them within which I would include myself. The irony is that most of the bible belt area has elected Bush on a platform of making America safer, how that may come back to haunt them, I cannot see by any conceivable stretch of the imagination how America could be any less safer than it is now. I even heard talk that the Bin Laden tape made people more inclined to support Bush, again it is ironic that this is precisely what the Islamic fundamentalists would want as of course now they have a polarised East-West, Muslim versus Christian style stand-off again. Nothing fuels fundamentalism more than the election of an even more extreme administration on the other side of the fence.

To all those leftie-type people out there in the US my view would be run, quite fast. If you’re South of the Mason-Dixon line then Mexico is a good bet, say hi to Zapata for me, if you’re North then Canada it is, bit parky but you won’t get shot there unless an American is in town! Last one out turn out the lights!

I’m horrified at the results. I honestly don’t understand how anyone could vote for Bush and I can only imagine what citizens of other countries are thinking now. On the upside, I’m looking into Canada immigration info.

I’m convinced that 55% of our country lost their d@mn minds all at once. It’s the only explanation.
I too considered heading into Canada. But to hell w/ that! This is MY country. And I will stay and fight as long as it takes to get it back to what it should be. The Bushes of the world (and their little cronies in the middle states who know one even cares about except when we’re voting) will not run me out!

Maybe I’ll just go on a rampage to every sh*tkicking state I can find and beat the hell out of them.

If BUSH would cheat at the debates, dont u think the republicans would cheat at voting, something just does not feel right, like we were robbed of our votes – Everyone I knew did not want BUSH another 4 years – though OHIO of all states voted him in, some is wrong someplace –

Bush gives Americans a bad name. I hope the rest of the world understands that 45% of Americans didn’t vote for him. I may love my country and the freedoms that its forefathers intended to bestow upon its people, but I don’t agree with our current President and I WILL NOT back him or his views.
I’m with Tina… America is our country too and we can’t desert it…
